Nations send condolences for loss of Emperor

Nations from around the IDU have sent condolences to the Xiomeran people in the wake of Emperor Topilpopoca's assassination. A sampling from around the region:

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Xiomera's Noble Emperor Topilpopoca, and we stand with Xiomera, and offer our assistance for anything they may need." - Chancellor William Lancaster of Eiria

"(We are) thinking of Topilpopoca's friends and family and for the devoted people of Xiomera. We didn't tend to get along, as Zamastanians and the rest of the world witnessed in recent months. Regardless of our differences, he showed our nation hospitality and graciousness following our own tragedy with the earthquake of August 31st. The Emperor, I truly believe now, was a dedicated and passionate man." - President Anya Bishop of Zamastan

“He was a rare example of a man who understood Kerlile and the necessity of the Kerlian project. Emperor Topilpopoca was a rare ally to us when so many nations have shunned us and turned their backs on us and women. He will be greatly missed by the Council, but we hope we can continue our positive relations with Xiomera into the future.” - statement by the Council of Kerlile

“This is understandably a sad time for those who cared about Emperor Topilpopoca, and my thoughts are with his family at this time." - Prime Minister Josephine Alvarez of Lauchenoiria

"My deepest hope now is that the Xiomeran government will have a peaceful and smooth transition of power." - Speaker Edward Mulberry of Libertas Omnium Maximus

The Government of Xiomera has issued a statement thanking these nations and their leaders for their well-wishes in this challenging time for the Empire. The statement, signed by Chief Justice Nopalliztli, also thanked the Council of Kerlile for the moment of silence observed in that country in the Emperor's honor. "We appreciate the support of our neighbors and reassure them that Xiomera will emerge stronger from this crisis caused by a traitor's bullet, much as a sword emerges stronger from the fire of the forge. We are grateful for the offers of assistance as well."

The government statement also noted the leaders who are planning to attend the memorial and funeral for Emperor Topilpopoca, stating that the Empire will be "immeasurably honored" by their presence as the nation bids farewell to its fallen leader.
