Would-be Metro Bomber Attempts Suicide in Jail Cell
The terrorist who tried to detonate a suicide vest onboard a Tofino-metro train last week attempted to hang herself in her holding cell late Tuesday night. Authorities say that Panama L'uih, the suspected terrorist who is at the Tofino 2-D Jail without bond, attempted to hang "herself with a sheet she concealed under her towel intended for showering" around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
L'uih is listed in critical condition at Tofino General Hospital, deputies said.
The jail authorities said a deputy noticed L'uih's attempt, intervened and quickly began performing CPR on her before calling EMS.
L'uih was charged with plotting to commit mass murder and was also charged with 60 counts of terrorism and unlawful weapon concealment.
