Xiomeran ambassador to participate in Sanctaria meeting

The Secretariat for International Affairs confirmed today that Ambassador Xōch'tlāl, the Xiomeran Ambassador to Sanctaria, will participate in a meeting with the ambassadors from Zamastan, Kerlile and Trive to be held in Sanctaria.

Sanctarian Trade Secretary Julia Griffin reportedly asked Sanctarian Chancellor Charlene Hendry to summon the ambassadors due to Sanctarian concerns about the ongoing trade dispute between Zamastan, Xiomera and Kerlile. While sharing those concerns and expressing a willingness to negotiate, Xiomeran officials reiterated that the Empire will not be pressured into acting against the best interests of its people, nor in a way that compromises Xiomera's political system or social harmony.

"We are always happy to talk - we've been trying not to escalate this all along," Secretary for International Affairs Huitzilhuani said. "However, we must respectfully disagree with the assertion made in Sanctarian media that we have been capricious, or prone to escalate without warning. It is only fair to point out that Zamastan placed sanctions first, then threatened a currency devaluation, then increased sanctions, then added Kerlile to sanctions, before we did anything at all. Xiomera is really trying to be a responsible partner in the region, and should not be seen in such a negative way," Secretary Huitzilhuani said. "Nevertheless, Xiomera is more than willing to do whatever we can to avoid further unnecessary unpleasantness and restore normalcy to regional relations and the regional economy."

Per the Secretariat of State, Ambassador Xōch'tlāl will be committed to listening fairly and in a respectful way to all parties in the discussion in Sanctaria, while still protecting the interests of the Xiomeran people.
