Xiomeran assistance could range from supplying provisions, weapons and "advisors" all the way to sending mercenaries (or Xiomeran soldiers masquerading as mercenaries) to help whichever side best suits Xiomeran goals.

I'm thinking about writing a thing for the RP about a police operation in Zamastan right after the plane crash. Nothing as of now that ties anything into the RP yet obviously, since I'm not sure how Zamastan is tying into it yet. But the police operation would involve arresting a group of people on bomb-making charges. Maybe that can be used later in the RP, so this would essentially be a foreshadowing. What do you think, LOM?

To anyone with any side-plots that may tie in to the central plot at a later point: You might as well start setting them up now. It’s better to have loose ends at the end than to try to jam something in (can say from experience) with no setup midway through the RP.
