Secretary of Tribal Relations to mediate Necatli dispute
Nezahualpilli - Secretary of Tribal Relations Iccauhyotli has been dispatched to the Necatli capital to try to mediate the growing dispute between Tlatoani Chicaliztli and a group of dissident Necatli seeking to remove him from power.
Secretary Iccauhyotli described his mission as "our effort to bring Chicaliztli and Noxochicotzin to the table together and see if there is a way to resolve their dispute without having to summon the Necatli ihuicatl early." An early vote on who should lead the Necatli tribe "will only cause disruption where none is needed," the Secretary added, expressing his hope the two sides will come to a compromise.
Neither side has expressed such confidence, however, Tlatoani Chicaliztli warned that "we will not allow Iccauhyotli, or anyone else from the Palace of Flowers, to pressure us into making decisions which are bad for our tribe." Mayor Noxochicotzin, for his part, said that "the intervention of the Secretary is welcome" but expressed doubt that the Tlatoani or his followers will accept a compromise. Mayor Noxochicotzin warned that his side will not accept any resolution that does not lead to "greater economic opportunities and development for the Necatli people."
The current push to recall Tlatoani Chicaliztli began when he vowed to oppose a series of planned economic development programs issued by the Emperor for the Necatli tribal domain.
