The Emperor has no clothes - and also no decency
Attacks on democratic movements are a distraction

In his recent speech to the future fascists graduating cadets at the Imperial Military Academy, Huey Tlatoani Topilpopoca had a senior moment when he decided to go off on those of us (such as your friendly neighborhood revolutionaries here at XUN) who want to bring democracy and something resembling actual freedom to Xiomera.

In his usual fashion (combining bellicose rhetoric, worship of the sanitized and family-friendly version of Xiomera's awful history, and complete misunderstanding of what people actually want), the Emperor declared that democracy is anti-Xiomeran, and that the much-vaunted "Xiomeran Meritocracy" foisted upon us by the bloody-handed oppressor Camaxtica almost 200 years ago) is the only way our country will continue to be governed. He decided to throw in his usual dash of fearmongering, using recent regional events as fodder for the tiresome old claim that bringing democracy to Xiomera will lead inevitably to civil strife, a return to tribal warfare, and our demise.

In other words, more of the same babble from ol' Topil, who has been singing this same broken record for two decades now as Emperor, just as his predecessors did. But it's all crap, quite frankly. It serves only one purpose: to uphold and maintain the power structure created by Xiomeran tribal elites to rule over us all, and to enshrine the hateful philosophy of "meritocracy" and "competition" that has governed us since the creation of the Xiomeran empire.

Democracy is so fervently opposed by Topilpopoca and the elites in our government and society precisely because they do recognize it as an existential threat - not to Xiomera, merely to their version of it. If democracy did end up bringing about the end of a hateful system that tells 20% of XIomera's population that the reason they get to starve and suffer their whole lives in a Tlālacuetztla slum like Etalhua instead of living the cushy life in the hills of Montelin is because they weren't "good enough" and that it's their own fault - that would be a good thing, not a bad one.

Hands off Necatli!
Necatlizin mobilize to prevent government plans

Despite pressure from the Imperial government, the Necatli tribe is once again mobilizing to prevent Xiomeran plans to forcibly "open up" their tribal domain to the outside world.

The current tlatoani of the Necatli, Chicaliztli, has declared that he remains opposed to plans to create new economic centers in the Necatli tribal domain, and is especially opposed to any foreign investment.

"So-called development in our lands has only served the historic purpose of siphoning our wealth and resources off to Tlālacuetztla, with little gain for us here," Chicaliztli declared. "It also represents yet another example of the Xiomeran-dominated government not respecting Necatli wishes for our lands to be left alone. We remain opposed to these plans and will work to resist them."

Tlatoani Chicaliztli and all other Necatli leaders were pointedly absent from the opening of the so-called trade center in Acalan recently, a clear message to the central government that their imposition is not wanted or needed in self-sufficient Necatli lands.
