Vox Regionum votes in favor of new Tax Bill
by Grahame Bentley, Political Correspondent

In a close 17 to 13 vote, The Vox Regionum has voted in favor of the New Tax Bill, as proposed by Senator Amanda Delmarva (NC-O). This comes after the bill spent nearly 2 months on the debate floor in the Vox Regionum and Vox Populi. The bill will take effect on June 12th, substantially cutting the percentage of our citizen's salaries that must be lost to taxes.

"Our taxes were ridiculous. No-one should have to pay more than about 7% of their salary in income tax. Anything more than that is virtual highway robbery." told James Conway (PF-O), one of the bill's backers to Litudinem Herald
."It was about time we voted this thing into law. The people of Libertas Omnium Maximus deserve this tax bill.

Critics of the bill worry that, since the bill cuts upwards of 40% of the welfare budget, many low-income families will have an even harder time and a demolished lifestyle.

Andromeda Inc. now highest valued stock in Libertas Omnium Maximus
by Jane Cartwright, Market Correspondent

At well over $650 dollars a share, Andromeda Tech Inc. is now the single most valuable tech stock of all time in Libertas Omnium Maximus. It is also now the most valuable stock of any company based in Libertas Omnium Maximus as of the writing of this article (beating out Bramson Reality - $642/share).

Andromeda Inc. manufactures personal devices including phones, laptops, and tablets. The company was first founded in 1996 but was not publicly traded until 2000. In 2009, their revolutionary smart phone, the Nova 6t, blew away most other 1st-gen smart phones and gave the fledgling company an opportunity to corner the market.

They now have released more than a dozen award winning smartphones, tablets, and personal computers. In fact, their Orion laptop (2018 model) recently edged out Saber corp's HalogenPro for Tech Weekly's"Best Personal Computer of 2018"

President Brown announces his 2020 candidacy
by Matt Tyler, Writer

Unsurprisingly, our president, Lucas Brown, has announced that he wishes to run for re-election in 2020. While it is uncommon for presidents to opt out of running for a 2nd term, it is not entirely unheard of.

Brown gave his re-election announcement at a rally held in his home-city of Litudinem Thursday evening, saying:

"If the time comes that I feel so obliged as to not run for re-election, our nation will be a perfect or near perfect place. Until that time comes, I intend to keep serving our fine nation. I have only the best interests of our nation in mind and look forward to a brighter future with all of you; together!"

Early polls show him beating out most opposition by a solid 12% at least in these upcoming elections. Then again, only time will tell who will serve our nation as president in 2020.
