Aeluria, 1500
Sebastian
With a week passing on the island, the Kivasekian Volunteers had their encampments dug in and their patrols moving along the perimeter, though the land was still foreign to them. With many volunteers finding themselves bored, they got to mingling with the tourists and the local Aelurians, using very broken English as a way to find common ground with them. There was a sort of bond that grew between the volunteers and the locals, with Kivasekians gladly offering up cigarettes, cigars, and similar tobacco-based products, giving the people a forgotten taste in exchange for hospitality.
Sebastian found himself in a similar situation when taking a day off to explore a nearby village with Igor, whom he grew to see in a better light. Igor acted as the intermediate for the pair, often getting some confused people who need to listen again to Igor's accent. Today, they had been talking to a group of locals about their lives outside of the volunteer services. Everyone was sitting in a restaurant, smoking heavily with the exception of Sebastian and a chestnut-haired man with light skin.
As Sebastian was taking a drink of tea, Igor tapped his shoulder after giving a hearty laugh, "Don't you love these people, Sebastian? I've found a bunch of people to smoke a house with me!" Rolling his eyes, Sebastian set his drink down and cleared his throat. The smoke was starting to burn his nose as Igor loved the thickest, blackest tobacco. "You'll get used to it, my friend." Smirking through yellowed teeth, Igor went back to talking with the people loudly as they all laughed, save for the chestnut man.
Feeling as he'd rather not hang around a chimney any longer, Sebastian stood up and nodded towards the people in farewell and made his way out, a plume of smoe following his exit.
With only a few steps out of the restaurant, he heard a voice shout his name, "Sebastian!" prompting him to turn around. To his surprise, the light skinned man from inside came out to follow him. Struggling to find words, he began to speak to Sebastian in very broken Kivasyan, "I am Agustin..." Putting his hand out, Sebastian shook it as Agustin continued, "Many persons at here learn to fight from you?" Sebastian tilted his head in confusion as he barely understood him, making the other reword the question, "You teach us to fight?"
Sebastian, now understanding his wants better, nodded and responded pleasantly, "Yes, I can."
A light shone in Agustin's eyes, "Good! Much goodness! Will wait on you here. Yes?" With another nod, Agustin smiled widely and hugged Sebastian before running off, probably to tell other locals about the good news.
