The 2017 Film Festival: Voting
#7

The RMG Judges this year were very pleased with the submissions chosen but would like to make clear as to why they wanted who for the winner.

1) Story. The judges felt that this time, while the cinematography was stunningly gorgeous, most of these movies lacked logic and story continuity, and our judges felt that story was one of their top priority categories. RMG Cinema thrives on telling adventure tales, rich with story, and when the movies lacked it, the judges took away points.

For example; Seaside was fantastically made visually, but some choices story related were questionable. "Upon waking up, Bjornar finds Audun missing. He receives a phone call from his daughter, Ann, who tells him that Audun is leaving her, due to him finding out that she is pregnant;" was a quote the judges used when they explained why they didn't quite feel like logic was 100% utilized when creating this scene. Without any further explanation in the film, the judges were curious why a woman would leave a husband while pregnant, and what problems in their relationship lead to this, and because of no sufficient backstory related to severe relationship problems provided them with detail as to why she made this decision, they took off points. Also when Bjornar thought of the sea, the judges were still curious why he thought of that sea.

Another example was "Rob Schneider is a Carrot". While the judges loved the humor, and laughed quite a bit, due to the quick introduction of detail, and lack of connection or logic between details, they took off points.

Because of story being a huge factor in deciding who won, the RMG Judges have agreed to vote these two films for Best New IDU Film, and Best IDU Classic Film.

For Best New IDU Film, Judges chose
The Economics of Love, by [nation]Lauchenoiria[/nation]

The way the story was concise and clear appealed to the judges. The beautiful cinematography and stunning soundtrack give this movie a total of 86 out of 100 possible, beating every other submission.

For Best IDU , Classic, Film, Judges chose "Come Home" by[nation] Russian Mafia Government [/nation], however due to moral issues, the judges are "not voting for our country", so RMG's vote for Best IDU Classic goes to

The Silent Heroes, by [nation]Comhar[/nation]

The judges were absolutely hooked with this emotional thriller. They loved the story, and it gave them a ton of points due to their story being clear and giving insight to Comhar's film industry capability.

Due to only one submission for For Best Foreign Film, the RMG judges defaulted the win to

Discovery, by Forodwaith.

Best Actor/Actress:, the judges voted

Melisa McDade, from [nation]Libertas Omnium Maximus[/nation]
