Chadwick had just seen that his home team, the Tidmouth Titans, had won their Sudra ball Challange Shield match against the Suddery Sonics and were through to the third round of the competition. He closed the tablet down just as the man he had assumed to be from Gnjes take a seat at the bar and nudged him with an elbow. "Some big politics going on over there, I tell you" pointing his finger at Martin and Jat. "Imperial business, no less. Did you know there are empires hereabouts? We don't get many of those in the Far East, but I'm beginning to see there's more to the IDU than meets the eye."

Glancing in the direction of the table indicated Chadwick two men talking. One was tall whilst the other was short and bespectacled. He thought that he recognised that taller of the two from his briefing as Jat Karlson, a Cagontian foreign affairs official.

The mention of Empires and big politics had surprised Chadwick and he pursed his lips to convey the thought. Nova Sodor had once had a trading empire of sorts but that was all a long time ago. Long before the Island had become frozen in time - metaphorically speaking that is - or perhaps less romantically - stagnated - and long before the Progressive Party had risen to power in the 1980's and started to overhaul the systems and infrastructure to drag the Island into modern times - it had been however only with the arrival of Nick Tylenor in the past few years as Prime Minister that Sodor had seen significant modernisation and political changes - one of which had been to apply for membership of the IDU.

Glancing back at the man from Gnejs Chadwick, indicating the wood panelled walls said, "There's a lot of history here and I'd wager a lot of skeletons in a lot of closets." He sipped at his beer and nodding toward the two men added, 'I wonder if some my be planning on re-appearing act?" Extending his hand he said, "Ryan Chadwick, Nova Sodorian Cultural Attach?."
