GrosseschnauzerApr 19 2008, 06:57 PM You know, this is similar in intent to something I've been thinking of that was intended as a followup to the Tsunami Warning System and the Natural Disaster Act. M idea would set uniform suggested standards for humanitarian and emergency supplies and facilities in order to facilitate multi-national or international relief assistance. It would also encurage international standards for emergency shelters that would reflect the kinds of risks any given area or region might face.
Maybe we can work up something here once this proposal makes quorum? [/quote]
I certainly would like to do that.
The good news is the moderators are considering creating a new category, Bookkeeping, and I've proposed a subcategory for emergency response. There is another subcategory for standards.
I suspect it may take them a few months, but I certainly expect them to have a decision and system ready before July (maybe even before school gets out). They are motivated since the first resolution used a new "Bookkeeping" category.
