I simply cannot imagine living in that type of atmosphere. Seeing it would be extremely interesting, and a valuable experience, I would think.
I think it's just a horrible conflict. As you said, it seems driven by fear. I'd like to see what a world without religion would look like, because it seems to me that if that were the case, this conflict (and many others) would be solved. It may not be that simple, but that's how I see it.
Also glad you made it back, I know that entire area is not the safest right now.
