GrosseschnauzerApr 9 2007, 08:13 AM Perhaps the resolution needs to address the right of nations to legalize the use of drugs that other nations might restrit or ban, and that legally authorized shipments to those nations are not prohibited?
I believe that is mainly covered by Quote: Recognising the right of nations to legalise, illegalise, restrict or tax recreational drugs as they see fit, within the bounds of any past or future UN resolutions concerning such substances,
Nations have every right to do what they want with drugs, within their own borders. Once they leave said borders, they then become an international matter.
Groot:
I'm not trying to imply anything there. Just saying that should nations take action against something illegal in that nation, they must respect the sovereignty of other nations.
Mind you, that whole section is being re-written, because at the moment it can be read as meaning you can't even ask nations to change their laws.
I'll fiddle with the wording, hopefully make my intentions clear.
