This phone call prompted many people to claim the Joseph Chavez is unfit to be President if elected on the December 30th Presidential Election.

Protest in Southland Turns Violent:
New Right protesters stood off with a New Liverpool PD after the New Right surrounded the Kaijan Comunity Center of Southland. There was also an attack on a kaijese businessman in the area that may have been caused by the New Right. Then a masked man stabbed an officer, afterward, a brawl began and was only stopped by an unknown tear gas canister. Both parties retreated back as the New Right though tires at the police surrounding the building. Since then its been quite as attempts to enter the building have been foiled by burning tires. There is now a full-scale manhunt in place for the attacker with the knife.

Conflict in Kaijan grows:
The Kaijan League has stepped up attacks in northern Kascan Township in North Kaijan. They now hold 40% of the Township as well as 7 towns. They also took over some towns are the nearby Allmack Township. There have been rumors that the League has executed a number of Central Government officials within their area of control. They are also running a radio station out of their areas of control.

The 2020 Slokasian Election is approaching and the New Liverpool Daily has you covered on all things election, so on December 30th, you are ready to follow the news election. Let's start with the Presidential race.

Candidate Name: Joseph Zhang
Party: Centrist
History: Born in 1965 in the North Valley he has been a long-time politician. He has been president from 2010-2016 then 2018 to the current day. His achievements in office indulge in reforming the economy after the 2008 crash as well as increasing the economy of Slokais and making it better for business.
VP Candidate: Michelle King, a rep, and businesswomen from San Fernando
Major Issues/Values: Socially Conservative with more liberal views on economics and healthcare. Has pushed for reforms in Economic Policy as well as higher taxes on the middle and upper classes. Believes that companies should be less state-owned. however, believes social services should be free at the price of high taxes

Candidate Name: Joseph Chavez
Party: National Alliance
History: Joseph Chavez was born on July 12 1979 in New Liverpool He attended the University of New Liverpool and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Theory. His political career began in 2000 when he ran for his local ward council he won despite the turbulent 2000 election. Then in 2004, he ran for Ward Mayor and won by a landslide he held the position until 2006 when he finally ran for Representative in the Slokaisian Legislature. He failed to win in 2006 but won in 2008. He then joined the Centrist Party and kept growing in his political influence until 2012 where he became the Minister of Transportation under President Joseph Zhang. In 2016 he became party leader and won the election and became President of Slokais. In 2018 he left the Centrist Party and created the new National Alliance party; he lost the presidential election but his new party managed to reach an agreement to hold a majority of seats. Since then he has been the Prime Minister of Slokais and he has been a key diplomat at many summits and meetings. In 2020 he began his run for President.
VP Candidate: Alexandra Ahmad, Current rep, and Deputy PM
Major Issues/Values: Socially Liberal and Economically left-leaning, however, supports military action. Pushes for free government healthcare as well as private healthcare to still exist, Is for reforming Kaijan so that it becomes more stable to prevent further violence. Is for spending more on services for the people and finding ways to combat global warming.

Candidate Name: George Oliver
Party: Conservative
History: George Oliver was born on October 23rd, 1950 he grew up during the Second Slokasian Revolution. At 17 he joined the National Union Army he served until the war ended in 1970. Afterward, he joined the Slokasian Army and rose to the rank of Lieutenant in the 7th Infantry Division. He left the army in 1978 and joined the Conservative Party. In 1992 he was selected to be the Minister of Defense after he was elected that year to the Slokaisian Legislature. He was Minister of Defense through 3 governmental changes until 2006. In 2008 he ran for president and got 35% on the first ballot and 47% on the second ballot meaning that it had to go to the third ballot where Joseph Zhang won. In 2020 he ran again; in May 2020 he called Idenguious Rights protesters ``thugs and criminals'' and that if he were president he would get rid of the Tribal Council.
VP: Mark Lock, Millionaire and import business leader
Issues and Policy: Pushes for fewer restrictions on everything as well as a focus on business and job numbers. Pushes for lower taxes also supports industrial workers, and has vowed to work for them to keep their jobs as the economy becomes more tech-focused. Supports military action in Kaijan and thinks that the tribal council is part of the issues in Kaijan.

Candidate Name: Sean Khan
History: Sean Khan was born Sean Simran Joseph Khan on May 14th, 1965 in West Valley Township. His parents were lawyers in a small town and he grew up close to the Silverado Mountains. Because of this he always had a passion for the environment and for nature. In college, he went to Graywood College and earned a degree in environmental law. He made his own law firm and often was involved in land management claims and because of this, he began to get involved with the Green Party. In 1990 he ran for representative in the Slokaisian Legislature and won and became an early Green Party member and in 1992 became the head of the party. He was a master of negotiation and made his party a key tool in securing a majority of governments through the 90s. In 2000 he once again ran for president and this time he won and became the president in a very divided time. As president, he improved mass transit and developed and protected lots of lands as well as created an eco-tourism boom, and began to move towards renewable sources of fuel. However, in 2008, he lost after failing to stop an economic collapse due to the global recession. After that, he stepped down as a green party leader but kept working to move forward in getting rid of the issues that he worked on during his time as president.
VP: Angela walker Gonzalez, MP and climate activist and author
Policy: Socially Liberal and supports public transport and development nationwide. Believes that to fix Kaijan you must support its development.

Candidate Name: Micheal Spencer
History and Opinion: Micheal Spencer was born on December 16th, 1975 in Hunter Township. In 1995 he made it onto the scene when he led a protest in Raytown against the establishment of a provincial tribal council. The protest turned violent but Spencer gained fame within the Far Right. In 2000 he was elected to the Slokaisian Legislature. In 2006 During the Kaijan War he called for the removal of Tuza Tribes from New Liverpool and San Fernando City. In 2010 he voted against the establishment of the Tribal Council. He is very right-leaning on issues and believes that there needs to be less government interference and a stronger military. He has a lot of controversy surrounding him from Murder charges to support the United Rights terror group. His Vp is Alexander Lin, a far-right talk show host.

Candidate Name: Howard Alexander-Walker
History and Opinion:
Howard Alexander Walker was born in Point Lee on February 9th, 1950. His parents were ironworkers and when he turned 18 he joined them. But the war hit and he was laid off. He moved to Princes City and began working odd jobs until in 1971 when he was granted a scholarship to UNL where he studied Politics. In 1980 he ran for his Township and won he spent the next 30 years in the Slokaisan Legislature. In 2010 he left politics but made a return in 2018 to save the dying Left Party. His VP candidate is Jeremy Springs

The Parties of the Slokasian Legislature


Grand Coalition

The National Alliance under Joseph Chavez is the largest party in the country with 127 of 402 seats. They were created in 2018 by Joseph Chavez over political differences with the centrist party. Even Though Joseph Chavez did not win reelection they won 127 and formed the Grand Coalition to get a majority. They have 203 combined seats as a group. They get a lot of support from the San Fernando Valley as well as many other cities across San Fernando Island.

The Green Party under Sean Khan is a party founded in the 1990s. They gained control in 2004 yet then have fallen due to the poor presidency under Sean Khan and the Left and the National Alliance having good elections. Despite this, they are popular Kaijan and some areas of New Liverpool and San Fernando

The Socialist Party under Minmintao Johnson is a party founded in 2017 and has gained support in recent years due to its heavy support among younger voters and even among the working class.

The Left Party has seen a big drop off in the past few years due to the National Alliance however they still retain and strong support in rural areas and among the less progressive incites.

The rest of the coalition is a group of small parties such as Partido Cathlico and the Pirate Party and a few other individual MPs. Even though they are small they help keep the Grand Coalition in power

The Coalition for Slokais

The group is led by the Centrist Party under Joseph Zhang, the current president. Together the coalition has 199 seats only 4 shies of the Grand Coalition. They look to win a few seats however they look weaker this time around due to the unpopularity of them among some workers. The centrist party themselves have 95 seats.

The Conservative Party under George Oliver is a party that has strong support among many working-class people as well as a lot of people in rural areas. They and the Left Party used to be the 2 big parties however times have changed. They look to lose seats from the New Right and the National Alliance.

The New Right under Micheal Spencer is a far-right party that has come from nowhere to gain 24 seats. They are very popular in the outer islands and in some rural areas they look to gain seats from this election.

Briarwood District

The Briarwood District is a district south of New Liverpool on the southern bank of the Southland River. The current MP for the district is Conservative Party member Alan Mount who is facing a tough challenge from National Alliance candidate Eduardo Juarez. The district has become more developed in the last few years with a new New Liverpool Metro Station which has begun to turn the area into a commuter town for those working in New Liverpool.

The district has been flooded with young families and more liberally minded people. However the estbahmeant in the area a lot of older wealthy people are more likely to vote for Consertivtie candidates. In a close election it may come down to seats like Briarwoods and it's a good example of the growth of liberals in the suburbs.

Races to Watch: UNL District
Because the University of New Liverpool is so big it makes a good chunk of the university. However, it's one of the few districts where 2 candidates from the same coalition are running against each other. The incumbent Green Party member Mia Yu against Pirate Party candidate Robert Marques. As well as the Conservative Candidate Robert Lin who has little hope however there is a chance he may be a spoiler and draw some votes away. The Grand Coalition has endorsed Mia Yu, however, the Pirate Party is not listening to them. Even though are small every seat matters in this election and making the Pirate Party a key yet small player.

Crooked Creek District
The Crooked Creek District is a working-class area of Point Lee. The incumbent is Consertivtive party member Alan Walls. Running against him is New Right Candidate, Howard Johnson. Even though they are in the same coalition. The New Right has not pulled the candidate off the ticket. For a long time, working-class people were drawn to the Conservatives, however, times have changed as the New Right has said: “that they will protect their industrial jobs at all costs”. As well as their attacks on Kaijanese people have made voters in Crooked Creek support the New Right. On the other side is Adam Gonzalez of the Left Party who seemed to have some support with mainly younger voters.

Muslim Union Party A Election Spoiler?
As of now, the party has not joined either as they currently have 0 reps. However, if they gain 2 seats where they're projected to win they could create an issue. If the numbers for both parties stay and the Muslim Union gets 2(to be clear 1 seat from green and one seat for centrist are expected to flip). That would mean it would be 202-198-2 and the margin of error would stay the same, however, if GC won 3 seats and lost 1 to Muslim Union it would be 203-197-2, or if the Muslim Union joined one colation or another it could be 201-201 if they joined COS or 204-198. There are many more situations including ones where 1 Muslim Union Mp joins one coalition while the other joins the other. The only thing we do know is that of know the seats sit at 203-199 and that the Muslim union party could shape Slokais.

Running Against the President

In Valley Woods, Green Party Candidate Patricia Liu speaks to a room of 20 people in the barn of a supporter. She talks with an older couple about reducing carbon emissions. She is running for the Grand Coalition against Joseph Zhang, head of the Centrist Party and President of Slokais Islands. From the outside, it looks like she has no chance here in the District of North Valley the Centrist Party or a party further right has won the election to be MP. Despite that she is still running, not because she thinks she will run rather get people talking about Sean Khan and the Green Party. She told us that
“I am more campaigning for the Green Party then I am for myself”

Up the Provincial Highway-5 at the Joseph Zhang Presidential Campaign Office. We find the small basement of this large building. Instead of the “Joseph Zhang for President” posters that we see upstairs we see signs that say “Joseph Zhang for North Valley”. There are only a few desks down here. We ask the head of the district campaign what he does “Not much, just put these local posters and communicate with the election board”. We then ask about Patricia Liu he responds with
“It's nice to have some competition sometimes,” he laughs. He is right Joseph Zhang is projected to win 72% of the vote while Patrica Liu has 26% while 2% are undecided.

Elections Behind Enemy Lines

Only 10 days out from the election it looks as if Elections in Kascan and Allshan Townships are going to be an issue. Both have parts that are controlled by the Kaijan League. Because of that precinct in those areas can not be counted as the Kaijan League controls those areas. So because of that Allshan Township will still go ahead and just count those who made it out of that precinct as the voters of the percent. However, over the mountain in Kascan Township where 60% of the land is now heled by the Kaijan League things are very different. After many calls to move the election to the township instead all of those who made it out will vote to elect the next township head. The reasoning behind this is that because the election in a township could decide who controls Government as the parties are separated by 4 seats.

Election Update 12/20
President Joseph Zhang spoke to a crowd at the yearly Veterans Day Ceremony at the Naval Academy. He talked about the conflict in Kaijan and what his plans were "We need to end this conflict as soon as possible through force, only then can we begin the process of rebuilding". He later talked about how he was going to increase military spending "To conflict further issues we must expand our armed forces".

Prime Minster Chavez spoke today about his plans for healthcare reform at a rally in San Jose. "we must keep the price of government healthcare low as well as improve the quality of care provided by the National Health Department". He then responded to Rivals who says he will get rid of private healthcare. "I will not get rid of private healthcare there are people who are on it and they have the right to say on it".

George Oliver spoke at the yearly Conservative Fourm in Point Lee. He talked about Kaijan and his plans for economics. "The people who had their jobs removed by a so-called diverse economy will get them back, And I will work to keep the jobs of those who still work in the industry".

Counter-protesters at a Micheal Spencer were beaten by his violent supporters. In the past, the MP has supported groups such as the United Front who have been called a domestic terror threat by the SIBI. However, the candidate is gaining support by the day despite verified false claims by the candidate.

Insane New Liverpool Derby
Today, New Liverpool Red Bears played their local rivals the Northrock Dragons. The game began with a score from Jackson Heminze of Northrock as he hit the wall from the opening serve. By the half, Northrock led 12-5 after a streak of perfect serves by Northrock, during the second half New Liverpool rallied back slowly narrowing the lead as well as insane saves by the Final Line including a rare plaque hit, this is when a ball hits an opposing side honored player banner even though it hits the wall it does not count. By the 4th quarter, the score was 14-14 with 2;00 minutes left. a power hit from the final line of Northrock ended up in New Liverpool's back half, it was then scooped up and served to the Grand Line who then got in a back and forth with the Northrock, Grand Line. They then sent a good one to the Final Line, however, it was saved at the last moment as the clock hit 0:00. Then it went to sudden death with penalities just the Grand Line vs the Final Line. It ended after 10 shots with an insane shot by Frankin Willian to win the game for New Liverpool. It was the first win for New Liverpool against Northrock in over 12 matches between them. The all-time record is now 32-12 in Northrock's favor.

Election Update 12/23
Joseph Chavez in a rally in Victoria talked about the Kaijan Conflict "The reason that terror groups gain so much power in Kaijan is that people turn radical if their situation is dire or they are in poverty the end up distrusting the government" He later said that "Joseph Zhang and the COS does not understand the people of Kaijan or how to help Kaijan, that is why we keep having these issues with terror groups". Midway through the rally he got word of the battle in Kascan City and had to return to New Liverpool.
A number of other people had to skip their events due to them being needed back in New Liverpool. However, some small party candidates who are not part of the government still held their rallies inducing Muslim Union Party Candidate, Lei Xing who ending being on the main political channels with the other events not going on. This may have helped him gain some votes with his national exposure. He said that "we must end the war in Kaijan now! and then help Kaijan get back on his feet".

Kaijan Insurgency Looms Over Slokais's General Election

Slokaisian President Joseph Zhang’s re-election bid faces stiff opposition from former president Joseph Chavez’s comeback attempt.

New Liverpool- Joseph Zhang, the pro-business president of the Slokais Islands for all but two years since 2010, faces two very familiar challenges ahead of the ethnically-diverse archipelago’s December 30th elections. One of them is a charismatic former president who shares his name. The other is unrest in the island of Kaijan, which has bedevilled generations of Slokaisian statesmen before him. With such challenges ahead, the politician who has been a central figure in Slokaisian politics since the beginning of the decade now may be poised to exit the national stage with the decade’s close.

To begin, President Zhang faces a challenge from former president (and current prime minister) Joseph Chavez, who previously defeated Zhang in elections in 2016. The two politicians share more than a first name-- both attended the University of New Liverpool, Slokais’s flagship university, and both were previously elected to office under the banner of the Centrist Party, Slokais’s long-dominant political force. Under the Zhang presidency, from his initial election in 2010 and re-election in 2014, Chavez had been a rising star, lauded for his role in completing prestigious rail lines as Transportation Minister. In 2016, Chavez mounted a challenge to Zhang for leadership of the Centrist Party, unseating Zhang as party leader and then taking advantage of an unusual constitutional provision allowing for an incumbent president to be ousted mid-term by the legislature.

Chavez won the ensuing election, and once in office adopted left-leaning stances on policy issues which alienated the party’s pro-business wing, including members such as Zhang. Fissures within the party deepened until President Chavez announced his intent to run for re-election in the 2018 federal election under the banner of his new-founded National Alliance, a center-left outfit of breakaway Centrists. Although Zhang defeated Chavez in the race for the presidency, the success of National Alliance candidates in the country’s unicameral Legislature allowed Chavez to be anointed as prime minister, leading the center-left “Grand Coalition”, while Zhang opted to align the Centrists with the parliamentary right, as the “Coalition for Slokais.” The two Josephs will thus lead opposing party alliances into Wednesday’s legislative and presidential elections.

The second challenge faced by President Zhang is a recurring one-- that of Kaijanese separatism. The Muslim-majority island of Kaijan, home to five million inhabitants, is culturally and linguistically distinct from the rest of Slokais, and has long struggled with poverty and underdevelopment. These tensions had previously erupted in a 2007-2010 war which claimed the lives of tens of thousands in battles between New Kaijan Republic (NKR) insurgents and federal forces. Although the defeat of the NKR and the creation of development programs and a new Tribal Council to represent Kaijan’s indigenous peoples calmed tensions, Kaijanese affairs are once more on the mind of Slokaisian voters after a series of headline-grabbing terror attacks in Slokaisian cities, perpetrated by the Kaijan League, an Islamist group designated as a terrorist organization by most foreign governments.

With the terror attack at the forefront of political discourse, President Zhang has been forced to pivot from his favored message for re-election, Slokais’s booming economy, to defending his handling of the Kaijan crisis. Perhaps due to pressure from his conservative allies (which include the far-right New Right party), Zhang has advocated a hardline stance, calling for a robust military response to the Kaijan League insurgency. Chavez, meanwhile, has advocated the measured use of force and has used his slim majority in the legislature to frustrate Zhang’s aims. In a high-profile defeat for Zhang’s government, the legislature adopted a declaration of war against the Kaijan League on Thursday giving the Legislature itself, rather than the presidency, chief decision-making power over the war effort in Kaijan. Federal troops are already on the ground in the rural highlands of North Kaijan province, where Kaijan League forces have apparently taken control of several towns. Voters are likely to judge Zhang harshly should the central government be seen as stumbling in the conflict.

With a powerful opponent harrying him from the left and ready to point out any slip-ups with regards to Kaijan, Joseph Zhang now faces a difficult fight for re-election to his third full four-year term. A recent poll shows Chavez leading Zhang, 30% to 28%, with first-choice votes, while the right-wing Conservative candidate George Oliver behind at 20%. Former president Sean Khan, a member of the Green party who led Slokais during its previous war against Kaijanese separatists, trails at 10%. Should Chavez turn his polling lead into victory in the presidential race, however, this would not necessarily translate into control of the legislature. Polls indicate a tight race for a majority in Slokais’s 402 single-member constituencies, and while the two opposing alliances have largely fielded only one candidate apiece in the majority of districts, regional parties such as the Muslim Union, an autonomist party competing in many Kaijanese constituencies, make forecasting election results difficult. With the two-party alliances separated by only a slim number of seats in the present legislature, even small fluctuations in the nationwide vote share could easily alter the balance of power. Against the backdrop of violence in Kaijan, it’s clear that Wednesday’s elections will be wholly unpredictable.

Welcome to Election Night 2020 in the Slokais Islands, today the New Liverpool Daily has you covered on all things election, from the Presidential Election down to the local races.

First, we can already call 37 seats from New Liverpool and San Fernando Province, these are mostly seats that heavily leaned to one party and got their results in. Again a lot of cities with smaller voting populations will get their results first, however, in some places like Kaijan City or Point Lee polls will not close until 6 pm. Also rural districts in areas with high voter turnout or places with lots of voting age people such as Northrock, a richer, and older area of New Liverpool, and UNL, a mostly university age district and youth voter turnout has been very high on Universities. Richard Liu: Well, yes these are mostly strong districts for one party or another, however, we do have our first flip of the night in Velga Valley with Alan Mars a very weak Centrist Party Incumbent losing to a strong National Alliance candidate in Alice Walker a former service member. Alice Walker will become the first female rep ever from Velga Valley.

Host: So, what made Alan Mars so weak

Richard Liu: Well, the economy of the area shrank, as well as reports of corruption and bribery from donors and held massive events at the expense of citizens. As well as a cancelation of a New Liverpool Metro line extension to the area. In 2019 he was voted the most unpopular mp in the nation with 25% approval.

Richard Liu: Okay, so the night is looking good for Joseph Chavez with already a pickup and still chances in some races, however, that is not to say that he has lost any races. In Point Lee, he lost Windsor to the New Right. The Left Party incumbent Robert Santos has lost to New Right Candidate John Perdue. He managed to get a lot of people to vote for him because of promises to bring back jobs to Windsor. He also called Robert Santos “a markist” this helped get votes from the older populations who remembered the revolution in the 1960s when Socialist strongman Juan Costa took over.

Richard Liu: Yeah, Joseph Chavez is doing well, though he will probably not be 50% though neither will Joseph Zhang or any other candidate. So this looks to be more likely to be a battle won by the second and even third ballots.

Welcome Back, over 200 seats have already been called tonight with several more looking close to being finished. There have been many changes so let's bring back Richard Liu.

Richard Liu: There have been some major seat changes first of all Grand Coalition has lost 3 seats in the overall Point Lee area all to candidates from the New Right. However, the Grand Coalition has won seats mainly in rural and exerubs areas. In Newland Springs, west of Point Lee, Aaron Reminez is a working mother of 4. She currently works 2 sometimes 3 jobs for her family, she will be the poorest MP ever as well as the first one under the poverty line since the 1970s. She ran for the Green Party against Doug ``Bubba'' Jefferson of the Conservative Party. Jefferson is a real estate developer who opened a lot of Newland Springs Protected Area to development. Meanwhile, Ramirez is against development from an area that supplies much of the clean water to the area.

Host: Well, what an inspiring story for Aaron Reminez from below the poverty line to Capitol Blvd.

Host: We have gotten word from a polling station in Kaijan that all the ballots are safely being counted in the township halls. In Vasca Township a ballot vehicle was attacked while picking up ballots, however, the vehicle had an armed escort and the attackers fled into the jungle.

Good evening, the second ballots in the presidential election are being counted as we speak. Only 10 seats are still undecided at this time. Eduardo Juarez is ahead in Briarwoods Township by 1,700 votes with only 5,000 more votes that have not been counted. Let's talk to Robert Kemp, advisor to the Joseph Zhang campaign.

Kemp: Glad to be here

Host: How does the Zhang team feel right now about what's going on

Kemp: It's going very well. We are on the verge of flipping some more seats in Point Lee and even keeping hold of Briarwoods Township. We also think Joseph Chavez can win the second ballot because I think all of the polls are wrong. He will win this election. The reason is the people are seeing Joseph Zhang is an amazing leader and that he will work for them
Host: So you think the polls are wrong

Kemp; That is right

We can now confirm the next president of the Slokais Islands Joseph Chavez. He won in second ballots with 59% of the vote. His party the National Alliance has gained 9 seats and his coalition now has a 6 seat majority with Muslim Union expected to give them an extra 2 seats. The house is now 206-194. For the first time since 2006, a party besides the Conservatives and the Centrists have control over the house and presidency. Let's bring in Damion Chen, an advisor to the Joseph Chavez campaign team, welcome.

Chen: Glad to be here

Host: Congrats on winning on election

Chen: This is a win for all of Slokais Islands, yeah it feels good. I think the people saw what was going on in Kaijan and said “we need a change in this country”.

Host: When is the president-elect expected to give his victory speech and when will we know the next Prime Minister

Chen: The President-elect is expected to speak on both of those things in a few hours. There are lots of good choices and he will discuss this with the Coalition as a whole.

Host: Did you expect Mr Chavez to win?

Chen: I am not gonna lie during the first round of ballots. I was worried, but when we moved to the second ballot I felt more confident.

Host: What do you think of Sean Khan, finishing 3rd place in the first round

Chen: It's crazy watching Sean come out of retirement and then giving energy back to the Green Party. He admitted his mistakes back during the second kaijan war and I think the President-elect will give him a position on his team

So of the races we covered here is how each of them went;
Briarwood: a tight win for Eduardo Juarez to flip the seat for the Grand Coalition
UNL: a pickup for the Pirate Party, thankfully the Pirate Party will stay in the Grand Coalition
Crooked Creek: a win for New Right as long as a number of other seats in that area.
Valley Woods: the new Opposition- Prime Minister wins yet its more close then some excepted with the Green Party picking up 32% of voters
Muslim Union Party: There are now on the board with 2 seats and then will probably join the Grand Colation. There were some issues with threats of violence and intimidation, though turnout was still good.

Well, we just heard Joseph Chavez give his victory speech, here is a rundown.
He started by talking about what lead to his moment,
“2 years ago I decided that enough was enough and created the National Alliance Party to help Slokais move forwards, I had no idea that in 2 years that idea would change the nation and bring me to this position”

He then talked about the opposing party.

“I would like to say to the people who did not vote for me, that I will still serve you as President and call on them to unite with us towards a better future”.
He then talked about what would happen now
“Now is a time for us to unite once again and work for a better economy that works for everyone, a safe and healthy planet, A solution to the Kaijan League and most of all a better Slokais Islands”
He then finally talked about who he would like to see as PM.
“I have talked with Grand Coalition leaders, and I think we have decided that Alexandra Ahmad would be the next PM of the Slokais Islands. I know that would leave the VP position, that's why I chose Sean Khan as her replacement as my VP.
Then he finished out.
“Today is a day for celebration and unity between people on both sides, Today is the day that Slokais Islands says to the world despite the issues going on that we stand united, free and strong, I now accept the results of the election and I am overjoyed to be your next President, thank you and long live the Federation and may God bless our troops”.

On March 3rd, 2007, the Financial Center in New Liverpool was the target of a terrorist attack. 120 people lost their lives that day with many more injured in the attack. Later that day Musa Huang of the New Kajian Republic terrorist organization claimed there were behind it in a video clip shared with the media. In the video, Huang said that “Until Kaijanese independence is respected, we will go down fighting and take everyone down with us”. Immediately afterward President Sean Khan ordered that the military secure all business areas and transportation hubs in Kaijan.

The Memories of that day live on and many and on March 3rd, the nation will come together to mourn once again. However, those who died were from all walks of life. The Highland Towers, across the street suffered a lot of damage. Many Families lost loved ones in Highland Towers Apartment Complex. Today the Financial Center has been rebuilt with the residents of Highland Towers being moved to new housing for free, thanks to the 2008 3/3/7 Act. There is a memorial with the names of the victims around a central spire, representing the lives cut short by the attack.

Election Preview: Mallacaland

The people of Mallacaland will have their first free election in history, after the revolution and regime change earlier this year, plans were made for an election to be held. The election will take place, Friday, May 28 with counting lasting into the next week. This an important election that will determine the future of this nation, but could have regional effects, with Xiomera looking to take steps in the region, as well as hope by Millintica they will become allies. There a large number of parties, for that we have a chart below.
