The Future Of The Map

Embolalia, PM me your e-mail address, and I should be able to get you access to the files.

TG'd. I have concerns, though, about keeping the source files private, since it means that if I CTE, nobody else can maintain the map.

Perhaps store an access route to the map's source files in a bit of this forum that's only accessible to regional admins?
If using Dom's original files is possible then I'd certainly prefer that to a new map, no matter how good the latter might be, because of what I've already thought about such matters as my nations' weather and migratory species... and because significant changes to the pattern of lands & seas could require considerable changes to those factors...

I've got the map of what changes would be "workable" around the Bears' 'Mainland' just about ready, and will probably upload that -- & give you access to it -- tomorrow: The 'Northlands' will probably take a little while longer.

My nations here = Bears Armed (including The Ursine Northlands and, occupying only a few offices, 'Bears Armed Mission'; plus Wilderlands Protectorate, and a couple of very small political entities in the same general area that I show on my own maps but haven't bothered to create as separate [NS] 'nations' yet...), Roumberre, Old Ceorana = on the old map;
Philosophical Pandas = in an upland area of the southern continent, never shown on the map although I've already mentioned a couple of possible locations in the main Map-discussion thread.
Brocken Brakh = overlaps parts of Bears Armed (& possibly of the Wilderlands Protectorate), so doesn't need a space of its own on the regional map.

'Defaultdom' = really just exists at the OOC level as far as I'm concerned, and so doesn't need a space on the map.

And I'm currently looking after the regional founder, which I think should also retain a position that's pretty much the same as its original one if that's possible, too... Does anybody else who's currently active have the password for that nation, and if not then do people think that I should share it with anybody else in case of emergencies?

Re Malabra having CTEd, he's done this several times before and (obviously) returned again each time, so I wouldn't be too quick to write him out of things if I were you...

I wasn't planning on writing Malabra out just yet. I'm figuring a year is about the right amount of time to let a CTE'd nation stay on the map.

On this board, if you have admin rights, there's a notepad in the Admin CP that I suppose could be used for keeping note of the founder's password and links to map source files.

EmbolaliaJul 31 2010, 04:55 PM If we end up going with this, I was thinking Sidh Ohn to the east of Bears Armed (I added in some islands and such from your maps) and Arnholdica to my north.

I would prefer to be north of Bear Armed but understand if the map can't accomidate that. If that is the case then the large Island landmass just to the east of him should work well enough, especially if Sidh Ohn were only located in the northern half (ie. just north of the isthmus that connects the northern and southern halves.) Either way, this would solve several issues for me that were raised by the previously assumed location so, great work! Confusedunglasses:

I like the new map aesthetically, but it is rather annoying that, considering I've been here since 2007, I'm not actually on this new map...

Oh. I must have missed you in my original count of nations. Not a problem; I'll add you in. Are there any puppets or nations you need for history that you want me to transfer? Also, I assume that the chunk just north of Enn is also yours. What, if any, changes would be acceptable there? (Like moving it, or getting rid of the isthmus?)

Thanks! Yep, the land north of Enn is mine. You're free to change that if you want, pretty much the only requirements for that exclave are that it needs to be to the north of the rest of the country and have a coast line. As for the mainland, it also needs to be coastal with two islands, but again if the shape is a bit different it's okay. You don't have to move over any other nations from the old map either Smile
