Beginning Of An Inkling Of An Idea

I would like to author a resolution to increase political freedoms. But I'm not sure what is or is not already covered by UN resolutions and where to go from here. I am prepared to lobby those who need to be lobbied and such. But I would like to know where the IDUers in particular think there is room for improvement when it comes to political freedoms ...

Ceorana will support almost anything in the Furtherment of Democracy category.

Always room for improvement in political freedoms.

As for what is already covered, take a look through the proposals through history. I'm sure there's a condensed version out there... (help me out, guys!)

You could go here: http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/P..._UN_Resolutions

And look at the grey resolutions. It doesn't look like very many of them have been passed, so you shouldn't have a problem with repeating ideas.

P.S. I'm glad to see that more people want to write proposals, the more we write, the better Smile

A FoD proposal would be good.

One thing to bear in mind, though, is that the rules prohibit "Ideological Bans". So you can't actually forced a democratic system (and that wouldn't be wise, anyway, given the number of repeal attempts for Citizen Rule Required).

Personally, I think freedom of information is the way to go. The more people know, they more likely they are to want to change it.

Freedom of Information might be a good start. Hmm ... Let me ponder ...

There are a few directions you can take freedom of information too, depending on what's been passed while I was gone. You might be able to expand on Tuesday Heights' Freedom of Press, you could tackle government control of information with something in the same spirit as America's Freedom of Information Act, or you could try to increase internet accessibility and/or limit governmental ability to block sites. The options are probably pretty close to infinite now that I think about it. Is there anything you're interested in and already know a lot about that could be tied in to freedom of information?

Well, I am sure it's already been done, but something with ensuring the freedom of th einternet would most interest me. But I think something along the lines of an Open Government/FOIA idea might work. Might be tricky.

Jey has a draft of a Freedom of Information Act, but I'm not sure where he is with it.
