The Conference at Maivers

Increased tensions in the South Xiomeran Sea have led to aggressive naval maneuvers, military saber-rattling, and bellicose rhetoric on the part of numerous nations throughout the Catican continent. Hoping to serve as a trusted mediator to reduce the possibility of conflict, Laeralian President Liu Mei-han has called for a conference of the involved leaders in order to resolve tensions, at the rural Château de Maivers...

IC Details:
1. The conference, known simply as the Maivers talks or the Maivers conference, is being held at the Château de Maivers (pictured above).
2. Leaders or diplomats from Eiria, Legionas, Shen, United New England, Xiomera, and Zamastan have been invited. If you're not one of those but would like to attend, contact me directly via Discord.
3. The Château de Maivers is located in Choisel province, northeast of Laeralsford. The Château was built for an Arrivée noble family during the French colonization period, and was confiscated under land seizure laws of the Republic of Laeral period (roughly 1920-1950) after the heir to the property died childless. The château has remained in government hands ever since, and is operated by the Ministry of Culture as a tourist attraction and historic site.
4. The leaders and their delegations will be housed securely in nearby, separate lodging on the chateau's grounds, while the main building will be used for discussions during the day.
5. The main hall of the château will be used for the plenary sessions of the conference, while Laeralian diplomatic staff can facilitate direct bilateral meetings in various rooms of the château- ie, if the Eirian delegation wants to meet with the Xiomeran delegation directly, they should talk to their assigned Laeralian coordinator, who will show them to a room of the château for their private use. The Laeralian delegation is also prepared to act as a go-between to facilitate discussion if necessary.
6. The conference will last for as long as necessary; participants may leave at any time.
7. President Liu Mei-han and Foreign Minister Tanvi Misra are scheduled to remain on the premises for the duration of the conference. There will also be a sizable staff of diplomats from the Foreign Ministry present.
8. At the opening plenary session, President Liu will give a brief opening address before welcoming all participants to give an opening statement regarding their positions and wishes regarding the issue. Once all delegations have spoken, she will then give a second address attempting to express commonalities between the various nations' positions, as well as describing her proposed measures to resolve the situation.
9. Delegates will be permitted to bring security staff; guns are forbidden within the château but allowed elsewhere on the property. Federal Marshals of the Federal Security Service will provide protection and oversee the conference's security.
10. The media is not permitted within the château's grounds; the Laeralian delegation will issue a brief press statement daily to the media.

1. The conference will be fairly freeform regarding schedule, besides the opening plenary session that I mentioned. Be sure to DM me on Discord to let me know if you've set up a bilateral meeting with another player.
2. Feel free to write your own news articles regarding conference goings-on- you can use the château picture attached at the top, and I can provide you with pictures of any of the Laeralian leaders.
