The Heights cover an area spanning about 1,800 square kilometers (690 sq mi), with gradual inclines and hills. It provides a natural barrier between the river and the city of [[Lower Tariel]]. There are two small towns in the Heights; Kara Ben and Porra. There are sites indicating human settlement dating back nearly 6,000 years, mainly ancient [[Åethnoa]] tribes.
