The Chamber of Regions is the upper chamber of the National Assembly. Regional Delegates are elected by Regional Councils immediately following council elections. Regional Delegates are elected via the D'Hondt method; each of Aredoa's 30 Regional Councils elects 3-5 Delegates based on their population. The Chamber of Regions is inferior to the Chamber of Deputies in many ways: it does not have the power to block legislation from becoming law, and the Chamber of Deputies can overturn amendments made by the Chamber of Regions. Nevertheless, the chamber plays an important role in the revision of legislation and oversight of government.
