== Usage ==

This template is for articles actively undergoing construction. If the article instead is actively undergoing a major edit, please use {{Tl|Inuse}}.

In general, this template should not be used for new articles with little content. Instead, the [[Wikipedia:About the Sandbox|sandbox]] should be used to develop the article so that it has reasonable content when it is copied into namespace.

Articles tagged with this template are automatically added to the category [[:Category:Pages actively undergoing construction]]. Add the parameter <code>|placedby=</code> (followed by your login name) to make it easy for people to contact the person who placed the template.

If used on a non-article page (such as a user page) which is not yet ready for use, type {{Tlx|Under construction|notready=true}}. That will produce the following:

A comment may be added to the box using the ''|comment='' switch.

As this template is used in multiple namespaces it uses {{tl|mbox}}, which will automatically detect individual namespace usage and adapt appropriate styling accordingly.

== Usage ==
This template is for pages actively undergoing a major edit. If the page instead is actively undergoing construction, please use {{tl|Under construction}}.

The '''In use''' [[Wikipedia:Template messages|template message]] is placed at the top of a page you are actively editing for a short period of time. The tag is intended to inform people that someone is currently working on the article, thereby reducing edit conflicts. Please do not leave it in place for more than the few hours at most that should be necessary, as doing so may unnecessarily discourage others from contributing to the article. If it has been up for more than two hours since the last edit, it should be removed. Specifying periods of several days or longer for this template goes against the spirit of simply avoiding edit conflicts; please only use it for sessions where you are actively editing the article.

If you wish to indicate that an article is being rebuilt over a longer period of time consider the {{Tlx|Under construction}} template. That template encourages others to edit the article while indicating that it is a [[Wikipedia:Editing policy|work in progress]].
