Groot, this is an Order of Knoghts within NS that became dormant and is being revived, partially in The North Pacific, partially in two other regions. I'm not into invader/defender politics, so the fact that Grosseschnazer is an application through The North Pacific should indicate that there is a sharing of values, especially democracy. I guess the closest analogy might be the UN Old Guard.
As I understand it there is also a region within NS, but I haven't seen an explanation of that part, just that the Order of Gryphons plans to develop chapters in regions where it is welcomed.

We are a brotherhood of Knight-Priests founded within The Holy and Gryphonnic Land of New Thyatira in the North Pacific, and have since spread to other regions within the game. We are dedicated to peace, freedom, and the greater good of NationStates.
We are not exactly an army, nor are we a primary affiliation. We do not require you to move out of your home region and leave your friends behind. The Order of Gryphons is an organization, a group of people who loudly proclaim they follow the Virtues and will stand up to injustice.
We Knights of the Order can be found everywhere, helping where able, providing guidance when asked or simply hanging out and having a good time!

Also, though Grosseschnauzer is correct in pointing out that he mentioned the IDU to me as having a disposition similar to that of the Order, another Knight (in another Chapter) told me The IDU was founded by refugees from TNP during the Great Bight era. Perhaps someone could set me to right on this matter.

Randomerica, Xtraodrinary Gentlemen, and my government were all North Pacific natives in July 2004. I don't know if Randomerica was ejected, but the Xtraordinary Gentlemen and Mikitivity both were, when we publically called for the resignation of Great Bight after the first round of ejections from the North Pacific government.

Since XG and my nation both has resolutions pending at the time, we sought stability in a founder controlled region.

Mikitivity, did you ever act on this offer?

If you haven't I would be pleased to convey your response to the Order being the chapter-master for the IDU region.

As soon as my obligations to TNP slow down (which, if the fates are willing, will be soon) I will begin the work of educating the members of the IDU region on the Order and its precepts so that anyone who is interested may make application to the Order.

The government of the Yoopers called this announcement to my attention and on the behalf of my government the Confederated City States of Mikitivity is honored to be named a member of the order, and will comply with the duties associated with this great honor.
