Amidonia - 09-20-2005
I really haven't been active in this region really. I have been reading and looking around in the forums, but I've mostly played behind the scenes. Even when a close friend and family member, Randomerica was a large part in this region I didn't do much. But I guess today is any good a day to start a little bit of posting.
I've looked around the forums and have noticed no one has ever mentioned anything about space exploration. My nation for one is very interested in the vast reaches of space and wonder if anyone else in the IDU shares the same feelings. Have you ever sent anything into orbit? Has anyone from your nation ever gone into space? Have you planned explorations to other planets? Please, tell!

Antrium - 09-20-2005
I think that DataGenesis has starships, they would probably be the space experts.
Antrium has a space exploration program, but so far have not actually launched anything. We want to make sure that our design is flawless before we send it into space, because we don't want an accident. We may launch it in a few months.
And also, welcome to the forums

Groot Gouda - 09-20-2005
My nation does fly into space, for scientific reaons. We also have several sattelites of our own in orbit.
Explorations to other planets are so far out of reach for our technical level, so we're not planning anything in this direction.

Adam Island - 09-20-2005
We have privatly funded television and radio sattelites in orbit. Rumor has it the government put a spy sattelite up there a few years ago...
Space Exploration -
Amidonia - 09-20-2005
We have both civilian and military satellites within orbit. Though we have not used our military satellites for militaristic purposes in many years, they've been turned into more of a scientific instrument lately. We as well routinely plan manned space missions for scientific reasons, though we have not yet sent a man beyond this planet. A few probes have been sent out to explore other planets but that is as far as we have gone. We hope to get a plan for such a manned expedition in the near future. Unless anyone may be interested in an international effort to send a man to another planet?

DataGenesis - 09-21-2005
To the Interstellar Federation of DataGenesis's knowledge, DataGenesis is amongst the most advanced nations in the region.
We have a number of starships which hold approximately 50 crew. However our focus are on two to five man ships that are far more manueverable and are able to locate and ship resources to the starships far more easily, in order to bring minerals to DataGenesis.
However the majority of these ships are not armed, and those that are are not used for military purposes, unless attacked. (This has not yet happened). These ships have been used in the past for evacuations and rebuilding work within failed IDU states.
We have the capablity of hyperdrive to visit further reaches of the galaxy, however we do not use it for fear of other nations stealing the technology, and the need for our assistance within the IDU and earth in general.
Our smaller shuttles are as shown below.
Our starships are classifed.
More information is available upon request!

Amidonia - 09-22-2005
Quite the advancements in space technologies I see you have there. Hmm, so I guess I might be somewhat useless to try and do an international expidition beyond our planet? with you there for us to turn to. Unless anyone would still be interested in such a thing, or perhaps we could create an international orginization to benefit the region in space exploration.
Space Exploration -
DataGenesis - 09-22-2005
An international expidition beyond our planet would not be useless at all!
While DataGenesis has the technology to do so, we have never planned such a thing because there have been insufficient funds and more important endevours on home soil. However, an international effort may allow this undertaking to be achieved!
Oh, and regardiong that sattelite of yours that was 4 degrees out of orbit, that situation has been rectified by one of our shuttles and it should now be functioning correctly. :funky_pisang:

Amidonia - 09-22-2005
Well then, if any other nations would feel interested in an international expidition we might have something here. And in addition, our nation thanks you for your assistance in our satellite problem, everything checks out more than perfect.
Space Exploration -
Antrium - 09-22-2005
Antrium would be more than happy to provide members of an international crew. We have a space program (as I said earlier) and would be glad to send someone who has passed the training. Let us know how we can help.
Space Exploration -
Amidonia - 09-23-2005
That is great to know Antrium, thanks for your interest in such a project. DataGenesis, should we think of some sort of plan for this and bring it before the IDU to see who may be interested?
Space Exploration -
Malabra - 09-23-2005
Malabra is highly involved space activity ever since the Parliament drew up a law that passed. We have several satellites in space used for both our television and radio stations. We also have explored many areas around the immediate area of space, including establishing contact with DataGenesis. We have not, however, gone in to deep space.
We would love to participate in a regional expedition though.
Space Exploration -
Adam Island - 09-23-2005
The Adam Island government does not normally participate in space activities, but Adam-Cola has paid large amounts of money to sponsor past AI ventures into the great unknown. I assume making the ship look like a giant bottle of soda pop is going to far, but a few stickers placed in strategic, camera-friendly locations would be worth a few million jay.
Space Exploration -
Amidonia - 09-23-2005
Well I am glad to see such interest in involvement for such a project to undertake. If we can get a few more nations involved within the region we may be able to pull this off.
Space Exploration -
Baranxtu - 09-24-2005
Baranxtu has satellites for civil purposes only in space right now, and also undertaken a few science based projects... however, mostly sponsored by private companies.
We would be interested in participating in a larger regional project, but Baranxtu's carbonated beverages producers may want some stickers next to those of Adam-Cola.
Space Exploration -
Lawtonia - 09-24-2005
Lawtonia does not currently have a space program due to the impact of launch vehicles on the environment. We would however be happy to join in an international effort to explore space and would be willing to contribute in any way from money to training and manufacturing facilities. In the meantime Lawtonia will shortly be looking for tenders to provide a small number of communicationsand scientific sattelites.

Amidonia - 09-25-2005
Ah, this is what I want to hear. Nations of the IDU interested in an international exploration of space. It looks as if plan should begin soon.
Space Exploration -
Amidonia - 09-26-2005
It looks like plans will begin slowly do to time contraints of both Datagenisis and I. But this project will get underway, and we hope to have the region flying beyond the stars soon.

DataGenesis - 10-03-2005
Summit on Interglobal Space Transportation and Exploration
DataGenesis understands the desire for other countries in the IDU to reach the stars, but also understands the logistical problems with the release of technology for nations that may use this technlogy for destruction.
As a result, today, the foreign minister of DataGenesis announced a summit for interested nations to be held behind closed doors in the nation's capital, Takala.
The summit will allow these countries to undertake the following processes
Form a multinational group where standards can be agreed on,
A prelimiary destination decided
Clearances to be made
The process to begin to build one (1) starship for each interested nation.
Funding of construction
Further details:
Each ship will have the opportunity of building as many transport ships as required - 2 for each nation will be funded by the Summit finances if they are made available.
(The basic schema for the transport ship is generally freely available however currently most nations do not have the ability to build this ship, and to does not have faster-than-light capabilities).
Faster-than-light starships will not be equipped with weapons by the Summit group, this will be up to individual nations and no weapons technology is to be exchanged.
Expressions of interest are now open.
Space Exploration -
Antrium - 10-03-2005
Antrium is very interested in this plan.
Our prime minister and our newly appointed Antrium Space Agency president will attend.
Space Exploration -
Lawtonia - 10-03-2005
The Speaker for the People of the The Free Land of Lawtonia would be pleased to attend
Space Exploration -
Amidonia - 10-04-2005
The people of the United Islands of Amidonia will certainly be taking part in this project. Our president and those heading our space agency will be attending this summit. Our nation is proud to take part in such a project and will put all it can spare to it.
Space Exploration -
Baranxtu - 10-04-2005
The Government of Baranxtu also has expressed interest to participate in the summit.
Wether the prime minister himself can attend along with the heads of the
Baranxtu Institute for Space Research and Exploration will depend on the date of the summit, but he would be very pleased to do so.
Space Exploration -
Malabra - 10-05-2005
We'll also be participating in the Summit.
Space Exploration -
Amidonia - 12-07-2005
Is anything happening with this summit anytime soon?
