I am an avid reader and figured that this page was worth re opening. I am currently working my way through JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion. It is pretty good so far. With that said, I think I like the Hobbit better.

The Hobbit is a quicker read as well
I'm currently on Ernest Cline's Armada and looking at starting The Last Wish by Sapowski

Cline wrote Ready Player One as well as Armada just to give you an idea of writing style. I don't know what Last Wish is like either but it's supposed to be what the Witcher game series is based off.

I'm a big Sanderson fan. I started out with Mistborn, but I've read most of his by now- Stormlight, Mistborn Series 2, Reckoners, Skyward...
And I met him once at a conference. He was a really nice guy, and he took the time to talk with everyone in the signing line.

I'm currently reading from an original print copy of Moby Dick. I purchased it at Shakespeare & Company, which is a store on Paris' Left Bank. It's an amazing store, filled with older copies of books, and it's a tight squeeze to get in. The line was wrapping around the block when I visited, so I was lucky to get in. Completely worth the wait - I just wish I was able to grab more books! I purchased Moby Dick, a 18th century Bible Commentary, and The First Men In the Moon by H.G. Wells.

I thought the mid section ran a little slow but the ending was fantastic. Very scary to think about.
