Worry Over Jageran Move -
Ferveo - 05-09-2008
On behalf of Ferveo, I believe I am entitled to ask the Jageran government why on earth they think that a large, heavily-armed fleet is necessary for the "non-hostile" investigation of a splashdown in
our waters? You realise how badly the people of Exordium Island, and Ferveo as a whole, are taking this? A small scientific vessel, that we could understand, but the fleet you've sent almost seems like a show of force, intimidation against our country.

We're sure they mean no harm.
Worry Over Jageran Move -
Ferveo - 05-10-2008
It's not a matter of what our government
knows, it's a matter of what our 229 million people
think. What you have to remember is that many of our people are battle-scarred and traumatised from the Great Holocaust. A show of force like Jagera's could have tremendous repercussions far beyond the initial intention of simply checking up on the EOI.
Worry Over Jageran Move -
Jagera - 05-10-2008
The government of Jagera feels that, although the splashdown did occur in Fervean waters, the implications of a strange, metal object coming down anywhere in the IDU is cause for concern for all IDU members. The
Ni?hogg carrier group are the closest forces Jagera has to respond to any threats. We believed we had thoroughly informed the government of Ferveo as to the intentions of the Carrier Group, and that these were strictly non-hostile. If the government of Ferveo cannot take adequate steps to calm their population, perhaps they need to revisit how information is disseminated.
The government of Jagera is going to take this opportunity to reiterate that the movements of the
Ni?hogg Carrier Group is not hostile, but merely intended to ensure the protection of the region. Especially with the previous intervention of the F.S.
Chikara, the Jageran government cannot rule out that the impact of this object was a hostile manouvre, one of which the government of Ferveo has knowledge and is not disseminating. We believe the true cause for concern is the lack of willingness on Ferveo's part to share information so that
our 185 million Jageran and 1389 million Jontadain citizens can be put at ease.
In the best interests of diplomatic relations, however, the Defence Ministry of Jagera is stating an intention to make the ships of the
Ni?hogg group available for Fervean operations, if necessary. We will also maintain the fleet at a distance of 75 nautical miles from Exordium Island unless requested, with the exception of the survey vessel JWS
L?ngsynt and two escorting destroyers.
We invite the Fervean government to let us know if these orders for the fleet are acceptable or not.
Sincerely,
Nils Hjalmasson, Regional Minister of Jagera
Torvald Schr?der, Defence Minister of Jagera

These conditions are acceptable. You will also be pleased to hear that our researchers are close to a major breakthrough in identifying the source and composition of the Object.
Secrecy and deception are what turned our former country into a nuclear wasteland. We understand that this kind of insular government cannot be allowed to exist in a region like the IDU. As such, from the very date of the splashdown we had intended to freely inform the region of the EIO's nature. We simply do not have enough information at this time -- but the lab has told us they have some inkling as to what it is. As soon as the information becomes available, the Press will know.

Hello,
My government has been monitoring the situation, and have been instructed to offer any resources that the Mikitivity Defense Forces can offer to assist in the analysis of the EIO. At the very least, we certainly are interested in whatever information is going to be shared.

NEWS JUST IN - Research Site 19 on Terminus Island has discovered that the Exordium Island Object is a relic of the Great Holocaust. Specifically, it is an Armed Re-Entry Vehicle. See the Fervean Observer for full details.

Jagera - 05-12-2008
Fervean Observer It remains to be seen how the government of Jagera, which caused unease on Thursday by moving a small but heavily-armed fleet into Fervean waters, will take these developments.[/quote]
The government of Jagera would like to know how the government of Ferveo could take such an event as a coincidence, and wonders if this event could be a precursor to any attacks against Ferveo or the IDU as a whole.
The
Ni?hogg Carrier Group stands ready for any information Ferveo may be able to relay.
Sincerely,
Nils Hjalmasson, Regional Minister of Jagera

Ferveo - 05-12-2008
Our government takes this matter very seriously indeed. This bizarre turn of events suggests outside interference, we know, but the corpse of the Unseen Master was found in the ruins of his fortified palace, and every military installation was destroyed due to Protocol Omega. AREVs were controlled from the ground, like most of the Unseen Master's space capability. The Unseen Master was too paranoid to have a "nuclear football" and controlled everything from his inner sanctum.
There is no reason to suspect that the crash is anything more than a coincidence, but we will let you know as soon as possible if any more information becomes available.

Where is Exordium Island and which direction is the object said to have come from?
Worry Over Jageran Move -
Federalist - 05-12-2008
I suggest we take into account these objects were in orbit around the planet and are therefore falling into decaying orbits which bring them into the atmosphere. I offer the services of the Pagemaster Near-Earth Object Tracking system to Ferevo to investigate the possibilities.
Worry Over Jageran Move -
Ferveo - 05-12-2008
Gerainia: Exordium Island is the eastern island in the northernmost pair of islands in Ferveo. Eyewitness accounts are conflicting, but it seems the object came from the east, out of the sunlight.
Pagemaster: We assume you have records for the past few weeks?
Worry Over Jageran Move -
Jagera - 05-13-2008
The Jageran government welcomes any information Ferveo may be able to provide to show this crash was nothing more than an extremely bizarre coincidence. Corroborating information from the Pagemaster Near-Earth Object Tracking system would be extremely useful, as well, as Pagemaster is the closest (Active) nation to Exordium Island.
We also apologize for any alarm the Jageran military may have caused, but Jagera takes any threats to itself or its IDU allies extremely seriously, and wishes to be prepared in case this is a precursor to a greater action that the government of Ferveo may not have forseen.
Sincerely,
Nils Hjalmasson, Regional Minister of Jagera

BREAKING NEWS!
The Jageran Regional Minister, Nils Hjalmasson, has resigned, and the Regional Council has selected Kristina Heikier to take his place. The following is a statement from Minister Heikier to Ferveo and to the entire IDU:
The Regional Council no longer intends to follow the policies set by the former minister. With participation from the new Minister of Defence, we have lowered the alert level for the Jageran Military, and are withdrawing the
Ni?hogg Carrier Group. We hope these actions of good faith will demonstrate to Ferveo and the entire IDU that Jagera has no hostile intentions towards Ferveo, and that we will remove any threats to other IDU nations.
The government of Jagera does request Fervean permission to have the survey vessel JWS
L?ngsynt and its two escorts remain in Fervean waters to continue checking for any remaining hazards that may have been left by the AREV's splashdown.
In addition, I also request permission to travel to Ferveo immediately in person and to meet with Fervean officials to look at what we can do to heal relations between our two great countries.
We offer our sincerest apologies for any ill will that may have been caused by the previous minister's policies, and seek to restore good relations with any IDU nation that may have been damaged by these actions.
Sincerely,
Kristina Heikier, Regional Minister-Designate of Jagera

Ferevo we have records dating back months. You are welcome to send a delegation to our NEOTS headquarters at the city of New Atlantis on the mainland to analyze the records. I am also willing to open up any astronomical data we have collected from any of our observatories and satellites to help you detemine what happened.

Ferveo - 05-13-2008
Minister Heikeir, all requests are granted. Our government is also concerned about the anti-Jageran sentiment among the more right-wing of our populace, particularly from groups such as the Fervean Front and the Fervean National Party. While the government harbours no grudges over the previous minister's moves, a minority of our people are somewhat...reactionary to say the least.
Pagemaster, we gratefully accept your invitation. We will be sending a scientific and diplomatic delegation shortly.
Worry over the Exordium Island Object is reaching something of a fever pitch in Ferveo. Many of our less scrupulous newspapers, newsletters and periodicals are reaching highly questionable conclusions over the AREV, ranging from government conspiracy (isn't it always?) to botched nuclear assault. Research Site 19 is within twenty-four hours of finishing procedures on the AREV, so news will probably break tomorrow or the day after.

Our scientists await your delegations arrival and will extend them every courtesy.
If I am step into this, would it be acceptable to the governments of Jagera and Ferevo if the Pagemaster navy sent a destroyer escort to the Jageran research vessel. This would remove a Jageran military presence from the region and hopefully allow for more calm to appear.
Also, the President of the Commonwealth extends an invitation to both governments to come to Pagemaster City for face-to-face negotiations on this matter. Pagemaster is neutral in this dispute and would serve as neutral ground on which your governments might resolve this.

Ferveo - 05-13-2008
The government of Ferveo understands the need for a Jageran scientific presence around Exordium Island. Perhaps your proposal would pacify some of our people, who have been taking place in steadily growing protest marches against the Jageran military presence. I'm sure Jagera will have an opinion on this matter.
I -- we -- heartily accept your latter invitation, as long as Jagera would like to be involved.

Jagera - 05-14-2008
The Jageran Defence Ministry accepts the offers of an escort from Pagemaster for the JWS
L?ngsynt. We do feel with this, however, that we should clarify that the ship is a military survey vessel (JWS = Jageran War Ship), so that there are no misunderstandings. Its current mission is purely scientific, but no one should be surprised if Jagera happens to gain a few new charts of the seafloor near Exordium Island from this.
The government of Jagera would be pleased to accept the invitation of the government of Pagemaster to meet with our Fervean counterparts in at a Pagemaster City Conference. Guardian Mikael IV, our head of state, would like to attend personally, along with myself and our First Minister and new Minister of Defence.
We await details from our host and the government of Ferveo on the arrangements.
Sincerely,
Kristina Heikier, Regional Minister-Designate of Jagera

Very well than. Since both parties are in compliance. The destroyers CPN
Spartan,
Knight, and
Samurai of Destroyer Squadron 7 will be on station to takover escort duties for the reseach vessel at approximatly noon tomorrow. As for your clarification Jagera, while the vessel is registered in your military it carries no weaponry and as such not a threat to Ferevo territory. Therefore, the Commonwealth sees no problem with it.
In the meantime, if both nations are willing we will begin talk as soon as your delegations arrive in Pagemaster City. The Commonwealth does request that there be no military escort by either nation outside of the presence of your command staff and personal bodygurads for your delegates. The Pagemaster Navy, Marine Corps, and Army will provide full protection for the delegates. Also both delegations are asked to be accompanied by scientifc advisors who are well versed in the fields of science involved with the object. Full delegations are requested to be no larger than twenty personnel. Means of transportation to arrive at Nike Naval Air Station in Pagemaster City can be done one of two ways. Either your delegations may fly in on your own personnel craft escorted by fighers of the Pagemaster Marine Corp or the Commonwealth can provide transportation to both delegations to and from the talks.
Sincerely,
Secretary of State Jack Carter

I wish to meet Minister Heikier personally, and will be shortly boarding a chartered Fervean aircraft to depart for Pagemaster City. I believe we can heal any animosity between our nations. I once again thank Mr Carter for his invitation, and look forward to speaking with him face to face.

Foreign Secretary Timothy Bishop

Preparations are currently being made for the launch of an unarmed G-A t343 suborbital transport plane for the Guardian and Ministers. Scientific advisers will follow close behind in a t265 charter jet aircraft. Guardian Mikael IV will participate in the initial greetings and preliminaries, before returning to Jagera. Minister Heikier and First Minister Skepskj?ld will remain until the talks have concluded.
We thank Secretary of State Carter for the invitation, and Secretary Bishop for the acceptance, and look forward to meeting them shortly.

Very well then. Once all delegates have arrived we will begin the talks. The President and several members of the Commonwealth Senate will also be on hand for the preliminary greetings. The President and myself will conduct the mediation ourselves. I have recieved word that the Pagemaster destoyers have been on patrol with the survey vessel and have reported no problems whatsoever. Are there any matters that either side would like to address now before the talks begin?

As both parties are now in Pagemaster City we will begin talks over resolving this crisis. I have requested the presence of several of Pagemaster's leading scientists in Astronomy, Physics, and a few other areas who will give their opinions on what brought the Object down once they've had a chance to review the data from Research Site 19 and NEOTS. I would like to remind both parties that the Commonwealth, therefore me, is neutral here and will serve as a referee and mitigator to resolve the conflict peacefully in a way that is satisfactory to both sides. Now then with that said, I would like both parites to begin these talks by explaining their actions in detail and truthfully.

Jagera - 05-17-2008
Guardian Mikael IV rises to speak, and his words are relayed by his translator:
"At the time the Exordium Island Object first near Ferveo impacted, Jageran troops recently in Jontadain territory had landed. Jagera's citizens and government were already tense, and the impact of a man-made object with so much secrecy was concerning. Certain elements did these events use to agitate for strong action on Jagera's part. Regrettably, I to these persons listened, and personally pressured the military, normally not my purview, to take action.
"When the true nature of the event became evident, and its effect on relations with Ferveo, I and others in the government attempted to pressure for the fleet to withdraw, but to no avail. The Object to anything else did not appear linked, but the former ministers the reins had taken. As formal power over the military with the Defence Ministry rests, no other could the fleet's hand force.
"As all present are aware, once the ministers changed, the fleet was able to withdraw, and did so at the first convenience.
"I personally this opportunity would like to take to apologize to the peoples of Ferveo, Jagera, and the IDU. I, on the advice of two ministers, had acted, to the detriment of our relations. We have come to this conference our true intentions to show, peaceful, collaborative study of the objects and the conditions leading to its crash. I hope the full extent of relations that were before present between our two great countries can be restored, and knowledge of the Exoridum Island Object for the good of all used. Thank you.
Yo tacks."
