Although there is interest in space exploration, the Republic of Risia do not currently have the resources for practicle space travel. However, we do have a great amount of experience in isolation and building of pressurized inclosures for underwater survival. Our populace are more interesested in the waters off our shores than what is above our heads.
Although we cannot sustain a practicle space program, the government of the Republic of Risia does wish to join in an international space program, and we would be happy to share our technology and experience with pressurized living spaces with an international space organization.
So yes, we wish to partake in the summit.

boy, this thread really died. The GPRG has some television satelites up and going, but nothing more. Maybe it is time for the IDU to take a step out to space!
Amidonia, are you still playing behind the scenes here? The GPRG does not posses the technology to build a space craft, but we would be glad to hold a summit on the question. Gustavsberg, in the GPRG
western part could be the host.

We would be interested in the summit, to the point of cooperation on environmental, observational, telecommunications and meteorological satellites and other projects, as well as ideas to limit the dangers of collision of space objects, and of objects falling to Earth. But we strongly oppose the militarisation of space, and so would not wish any involvement in projects of that nature.

The schnauzerlands federation has permitting the launch of polar satellites from the northernmost island of Kinderliebstadt for scientific and commercial use (weather, astronomical, communications, entertainment, transportation guidance, environmental monitoring, among others) and not for military use. Some of the equipment is quite sophisicated. Given that the distance from the southernmost township of the Schnauzer Dominions, to the northernmost township of Kinderliebstadt ot the westernmost township of the Schnauzer States and Schnaizer Homelands is several thousand kilometers, the use of satellites is a contemporary necessity.
It would be more cost effective if the satellites could be launched into stationary equatorial orbit, but unless the schnauzerlands could borrow facilities from elsewhere in the IDU, or developed a manned space flight program with space stations, we couldn't do it from our current space lauch complex.

Our space program consists almost entirely of media satellites and weather satellites.
I think it might not be a bad idea to have an IDU international space station.

Such a venture might be beyond our immediate financial means...perhaps it would be better to start off through liaison and collaboration regarding satellite projects, and working towards some more joint efforts, perhaps through an IDU Space Agency. This might also make a productive avenue of conversation at the present discussions in Domnonia.

No project of that kind will ever be disscused within the GPRG.
I just found this thread and thought it looked interesting. QoD makes a good point, maybe this is something that should be brought up in whatever organizasition the Klouch summit will spring.

Geeze, I'm so sorry. You have no idea how much reallife got in the way of all my IDU involvements. I was only able to do enough to keep my nation alive. I you guys are still interested in developing something just give the shout here and we'll try to plan something out.

If we could get the regional summit back on track, then the regional entity that summit is designed to create, would be a good venue in which to proceed.
So this isn't the only thng that's been on hold because of the holiday season.

That is even more advanced than the Mikitivity Space Program. Mikitivity has not yet had a successful launch of anything into orbit.
That said, Mikitivity still has an extensive weather forecasting program using various forms of RADAR and physical observations combined with numerical modeling. We also have an extensive series of telescopes to support our theoretical astrophysics program.
My government would be happy to provide funds, observation sites, and ground support (especially in the form of engineers to plot out orbits and catalog astronomical objects) for any regional effort.

Amidonia would be happy to be the staging point for any international effort. We have an extensive space program and have the technology to help produce and launch parts for an IDU station, if that is what we would like to do.

Nimali would be happy to be part of any group effort in this. Since the discovery of the ancient city of Nimali, we have found some prromising research which has the potential to be something very advanced, such as some rather advanced security and computing systems. We also have found some great astronomical charts and what could be a large telescope, or a sattelite which was never launcehed.

West Pasco's Intl Airport Does have a space pad,But only for small craft. and mainly for recieving purposes. Also our military does have trasporters that can reach outer space.
