I understand that some old buildings have to come down (safety and cost of just maintaining them), but that particular one looked so incredibly large it is a shame that they couldn't find something else for it.

Me? 60. Two grown sons; 1 granddaughter. Retired after almost 30 years with the US Army and Defense Department: 4 years as an Army officer, the rest as a civilian employee. My field was security management, primarily information security. Taught the stuff for the last 15 of those years.
Picture? Well, I don't have a recent one, but I did this pic in HeroMachine and PhotoPaint to serve as an avatar on one of the forums. Unfortunately, it actually does look like me.
O_O

They're all so scary I thought it better to just link 'em.
In my current life, I am Bernhard H?sel, a student at a
Gymnasium and working hard (yeah, right) for my abitur after which I want to study... something.
Family includes my mother and stepfather here and a bunch of nuts and other assorted folks at least 400kms away :yeah: .
Currently no boyfriend. Also no side job as I'm way too lazy. Curses be upon me.
In an earlier life, I apparently was Rodin's muse.

Or just silly on Christmas Eve.
I also have lots of wavy hair like Li-be-ra-ceeee!
And links to two pictures of me acting the role of Judges Hathorne and Danforthe (combined due to lack of actors) last year.
I can judge thee.
Seriously, I can.

At Subway a few weeks ago.
This is why you don't eat and laugh.
Old haircut. Eww.

I guess I should introduce myself as well. I'm Jonathan Page a 21 yr. old college student studying history. I live in Winder, Georgia, USA, though I'll be moving to either Valdosta or Savannah in August as soon as I make up my mind as to which university I want to transfer to. I currently work as a waiter(which I hate)
Who Are You? -
Jonquiere-Tadoussac - 04-02-2006
While we're actually doing introductions again... and since it is nice to know the people behind the nations...
I'm Lee, and I'm finishing up my degree in Political Science at the end of the month. I recently turned 23, and am looking to move out into the real world... but it is so bright out there... I love my safe University life!
Ehrm... I'm married, and live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (although I'm hoping to move to Ottawa or Montreal in the next few years).
I am a big fan of politics, and especially those in Quebec. JT's names (though not politics) are based on a region in that province in which I have spent some time in the past... (Oh, and I like ellipses... can you tell?)

And parentheses and hyphens and confusing sentences that go on and on and never end because they're the sentences that never end, and on and on they go, because they're the sentences that never end, and on and on they go, because...
Err, I'm back. Let's just pretend I'm a weeewy normal and well adjusted guy

Now that's just a great pic, GS. But I have a soft spot for schnauzers, seeing as my old dog used to be a schauzer cross

It's a photo I took of Lieben who passed away last spring. and Edie just after she was adopted Christmas week of 2002. And "Grosse" the way I use it means "great" or "large"

) There has been at least one schnauzer in my family for 35 years continuously come June.

I just realized I never did this :o
I'm pretty sure you all know all this, but here goes:
Hi. I have a name, but I'm feeling mysterious, so you can call me Antrium. I'm 15 (and a half

) and I live in Iowa City, a liberal college town in Iowa, in the US. (you know, the state with the corn and pigs and that kind of fun stuff)
Like most 15-year-olds, I go to high school.
When I'm not delegate-ing or doing homework, I listen to music and play The Sims or Sim City 4 (or lurk these forums and post stuff like this, obviously)
I also enjoy avoiding cameras, which is why there is no picture here
And like J-T, I love parentheses.

Antrium Sim City 4[/quote]
You know, I like the Sim City franchise, but the 4th one got a bit much for me. It's a bit too much micromanagement. Plus, I liked having computer neighbours in 3000; it was much easier to trade

I never played 3000, actually. I had a really old crappy Sim City Classic when I had a Windows 95 and it was the only game that worked, and then when I got my new computer, I went straight to 4. I like 4, still playing it constantly after about a year now. All of the SimCity games are soo addictive...
